It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Mary Bertha McCarthy of Hartford, Connecticut, who passed away at the age of 98, on June 15, 2024. She was predeceased by : her parents, Anthony Kaveskis and Mary Kaveskis (Nemyko); her son Brian; and her daughter-in-law Susan. She is survived by : her stepfather Adam Babinskas; her husband Francis "Mac" McCarthy; her sons, Thomas McCarthy of Newington and Keith McCarthy (Lisa) of Old Saybrook; and her grandchildren, Kim (Michael), Tommy, Kevin (Beth), Dawn (John), Kristy, Adam (Candace), Ali (Steve), James and Katelyn. She is also survived by her 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 20th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Newington Memorial (20 Bonair Ave, Newington, CT 06111). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. James Church (767 Elm St, Rocky Hill, CT 06067). A burial was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at the Cedar Hill Cemetery (453 Fairfield Ave, Hartford, CT 06114).
