He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufino Perez and Maria Perez (Ruiz); his son Jose Perez; his close friend Sonia Rodriguez; and his brothers, Marcial Perez and Ernesto Perez.
He is survived by: his wife Ana Santana-Perez; his children, Miguel J. Perez (Miriam Cruz-Perez), Luz M. Perez, Norberto Perez and Martin Perez, Jr. (Susan Tienken); his stepchildren, Nereida Ortiz, Elizabeth Rojas, Evelyn Schrijn (John Schrijn) and Angel Ortiz (Elizabeth Vasquez); and his sister Mina Rios. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
