She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Velma Boston and Albert Boston; her husband Dennis Gordon; her sons, Serestte and Orlando; her siblings, Shawn, Annette, Paulette and Dianne; and her grandchildren, Talasia, Kaharie, Samiya, Taraje, Cameren and Tailen.

Eventually, Marlyn volunteered in the Shelter Ministry and supported Joy's Hair Repair Breast Cancer Foundation.
