He was predeceased by: his parents, Tomas Rivera and Agripina Rivera (De Jesus); his sister Christina Alvarado; his nephew Victor Alvarado; his niece Eulogia Alvarado; and his former wife Hilda Sanchez.
He is survived by: his children, Antonio Rivera, Nancy Rivera and Ferdinand Rivera; the mother of his children Irma; his children, Luis Rivera Jr., Neida, Zulma Rivera and Emily Rivera; and his caregivers, Emelinda Arias, Jose Quiñonez and Maria I. Cotto. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
