In loving memory of John Hooper Merrill (Hartford, Connecticut), who departed this world on February 3, 2025 at the age of 90. John Hooper leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Richman Merrill and Harriet Rebecca Alderton Merrill; his wife Marcia; his brothers, George Ivan and Frank; and his grandson David Jonah.
He is survived by: his daughter Deborah (David) of Canton, CT; his grandchildren, Julia, Anna and Nathan; and his great grandchild Kenneth (Edith) of Wethersfield, CT.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home (807 Bloomfield Ave, Windsor, CT 06095). A memorial service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Church (107 Palisado Ave, Windsor, CT 06095-0006). He was also involved with ROMEO - Retired Old Men Eating Out, from 2007 until 2020 when COVID hit, arranging the meetings, speakers, the venue and tracking attendance and factoids along the way.
