He is survived by: his children, Jernigan "Johnny" Hooks (Martila) of New Britain, CT, Veronica Hooks of Whitinsville, MA and Roslynn Hooks of New Britain, CT; his daughter-in-law Iris Hooks of East Hartford, CT; his grandchildren, Latron Hooks, Tamra Sanchez (Raymond), Tiffany Hooks, Omari Hooks, Darryl Hooks, II, Rushern Hooks, Seth Hooks-Simmonds and Devvon Hooks; his great grandchildren, Jordan, Nadia, Jazmyn, Laylah, George, Jason and Frank; his siblings, Hattie Brooks, Lemerle Gunn, Irene Roundtree (Jerry), Jessie Mae Griffin (Godfrey), Sheila Higgins (Sanders), Gwendolyn Hooks, Stanley Hooks, Carrie Copeland (Curtis), Dianne Phillips, Michael Wood and Martha McCurty; and his sister-in-law Cynthia Hooks. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
