She was predeceased by: her father Lucian Karpienia; her daughter Valerie Jane Downes (Valentin Zurawlew); and her sister Barbara Maliszewski (Thaddeus W. Maliszewski). She is survived by: her husband Robert "Bob" Downes; her children, Dr. Deborah Downes (Marion Stoj) and Robert T. Downes (Claudia Baio); her grandchildren, Victoria Stoj, Christopher Stoj, Stefania Stoj, Robert Downes and Amelia Stoj; her niece Michelle Lenihan (John); and her cousins, Hacia, Maliszewski and Williamson. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
