It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jacob Owens of Hartford, Connecticut, born in Winnsboro, South Carolina, who passed away on August 12, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Owens, Sr. and Flora Owens; and his sister Dyrea Belton Delk (Willie). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Owens; his daughters, Vivian Phillips of Hempstead, NY, Jennifer Squirewell-Mills (Jerron) of Windsor, CT and Sandra Owens of Hartford, CT; his siblings, Artimus Owens (Thelma) of Windsor, CT, Rosie Lee Owens, Emma Owens of Washington, DC. and Ruth Kennedy (Owens) of Winnsboro, S. C; his aunts and uncles, Andrew Belton of Washington, DC, William Belton of Washington, DC, Nancy Exum of Washington, DC and Carrie Mae Able of Ridgeway, SC.; and his close friends, James Logan, Mike Gary and Bryan Gomez. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
