It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Denise Darlene Shephard (Hartford, Connecticut), who passed away on November 29, 2021, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her sister Sharon Streeter (Shephard); and her granddaughter Nelly. She is survived by: her daughter Deana Byrd; her son-in-law Martin Byrd; her granddaughters, Kiajah Barrow of Windsor Locks, Jasmine Byrd of Windsor Locks and Myia Byrd of Windsor Locks; her siblings, Sheila Morris of Hartford and Kenneth Barnes of Mississippi; her great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Lhondyn, Quinn and Nyiomee; her friend Cheyenne Madden; her nieces, Schavonne Morris of Newington and Melanie Barnes of South Carolina; and her brothers, Edward "Pepper" Brown, Allen "Poochie" Green, Oscar Leonard Green and Theodore Hendricks. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews.
