He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Smilegus and Sophia Smilegus; his sons, David and Daniel; and his brother Victor.
He is survived by: his wife Orysia Smilgys (Lech); his children, Lawrence Smilgys, Diane Sheehan (John) and Victor Smilgys (Van); his daughter-in-law Melinda Smilgys; his grandchildren, Jack, Stephen, Julia Sheehan and Devin Anderson (Lyndsae); his daughters, Aurora and Delilah; his niece Karin Curtis (Tom); and his nephew Russell Smilgys.
