He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph P. Rahl and Mabel Norton Rahl; his son Joseph Rahl, Jr.; and his granddaughter Elizabeth Nicholson. He is survived by: his wife June Coomes Rahl; his children, Kathleen Nicholson (Michael) of Guilford and Bill Rahl of Hamden; his siblings, Donald, Michael Rahl, Joan Vogel and Patricia Filbert (David); his grandchildren, Annie Nicholson, Brian Nicholson (Meagan), Ned Nicholson, Jennifer Dray (Brian) and Michelle Rahl (Rollin Mondo); his great grandchild Sophia Mondo; and his daughter-in-law Mary Ann Rahl.
