He was predeceased by: his parents, Dominic Mattei and Frances Mattei (DeMatteo); and his brother-in-law Frank Mikolike. He is survived by: his sisters, Elizabeth Mikolike and Marietta Mattei; and his former wife Margaret Mattei (Stochmal). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Joe can be made to the Joseph M. Mattei Endowed Scholarship for Baseball at Quinnipiac University.
