We bid farewell to Janice Monroe of Hamden, Connecticut, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 16, 2025 at the age of 75. Janice touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hawkins and Mary Hawkins (Milford); and her brother Louis Hawkins. She is survived by: her spouse Umar Ivory Louis Monroe; her sons, Kirk Gordon and Rachiem Monroe; her children-in-law, Stacey Gordon and Shauntaye Williams-Monroe; her stepson Kassiem Elliott; her daughter Cherish Robinson; her grandchildren, Kelsey, Kyle, Kevin Gordon, Ayannuah, Alyssa, Alyanna and Aaliyah Williams-Monroe; and her siblings, Gloria, Debra Hawkins, Butch and Kevin Hawkins. She is also survived by Her family, including her many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Howard K. Hill Funeral Services - New Haven (1287 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06511). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
