He is survived by: his children, Cynthia Leslie (Steve) of Stuarts Draft, VA and Douglas Downer (Paula) of Guilford; his grandchildren, Alice Neil (Everett), Justin Leslie (Pattye), Madelyn Foster (Jonathan), Shelbie Downer (Robert), Jeremy Downer and Colin Downer; his great grandchildren, Aaron, Nathan, Marta, Logan and McCoy; and his sister Jacqueline Belinger.
