He was predeceased by: his grandson Stephen Gioffre; and his siblings, Anthony Gioffre, Angelina Gioffre, Josephine Bochicchio and Frances Gioffre.

He is survived by: his wife Modesta Gioffre of Riverside, CT; his sons, Gaetano "Guy" Gioffre (Diane), Giacomo "Jack" Gioffre (Donna), Joseph Gioffre Jr. (Laura) and Anthony Gioffre (Suzanne); his grandchildren, Danielle Jaramillo, Nicole Gioffre-Henry, Mark Gioffre, Matthew Gioffre, Jaclyn Gioffre, Samantha Platt, Chris Gioffre and Courtney Gioffre; and his great grandchildren, Alyssa Lopez, Tito Jaramillo, Derek Gioffre and Liam Platt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, countless cousins.
