He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Cecil and Velma Etta Smith (Woodring). He is survived by: his wife LaVerne May Smith; his children, Diane Smith (Wayne Hill) of Granby and Paul Smith of Granby; his granddaughter Isobel Katherine Hill (Ra'anan Sistare) of Charlotte, NC; his brother Roy Alvin Smith (Lorraine) of Lewis, IA; his nephew Byron of Des Moines, IA.; and his niece Karen Smith of Des Moines, IA..
