He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Genis and Victoria Genis (Mironcik); his son Joseph "Darryl" Genis, Jr.; and his siblings, Helen M. Genis, Ruth Genis, Grace Forsyth, Paul Genis and Donald Genis.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Allen Forsyth of New Milford, Jocelyn Hauswirth (Albert "Rus") of Chatham, MA, Paula Smithers (Elton) of University Place, WA, Donna Laulo and John Genis (Nadira) of Spanaway, WA; his great-nieces, Shaylyn and Whitney Hauswirth; and also, Kyle of Peoria, AZ, Volodymeir Levitsky and Joseph. He is also survived by His nieces, nephews, and other family members.
