He is survived by: his wife Joann Downey (Singarella) of Lord's Embrace; his siblings, Joseph Downey, James Downey, John Downey (Maria), Walter Downey (Colette), Margaret Vasseur and Mary Malcolm-Smith; his siblings-in-law, Josphine Maulucci and Sal Singarella; his children, Annie, Joe, Jr., Jae, Cathy, Jacky, Michael, Jimmy, Matt, Laurie, Mindy, Missy, John, Jr., Laura, Walter, Jr., Jessica, Natasha, Danny, Tina and Dana; his sister Theresa Downey; his nephew Frank Palanza; his niece Diane Downey; his siblings-in-law, Margaret Downey, Arlene Singarella and Dan Maulucci; and his cousin Barbara Cyr.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home (34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield, CT 06109). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Cathedral of St. Joseph (140 Farmington Ave, Hartford, CT 06105).
