With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James T. Canivan of Glastonbury, Connecticut, born in Hartford, Connecticut, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles C. Canivan and Catherine V. Canivan (Harkins); his significant other Ann Mae Canivan (Clark); and his sister Catherine "Bunny" Canivan. He is survived by: his children, Gregory J. Canivan (Christine) of Charleston, SC, Melinda Canivan Swafford (William) of Virginia Beach, VA and Laurianne Canivan of New Jersey; and his grandchildren, Owen, Rose Canivan, Ruby Ann and Ava Mae Swafford. He is also survived by his family, lovingly typing his wife.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Catholic charities, or organizations supporting cancer research and patient care.
