He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Ward and Mary Ward (Kearns); his sister Ann Colbourn; his brother-in-law David Colbourn; his sister Mary Corbett; his brothers-in-law, Robert Corbett and Bruce Breiner; and his son-in-law Robert Rex.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ward (Breiner); his daughter Brendalyn Rex of Glastonbury; his granddaughter Lillyanne Rex; and his nieces and nephews, Debra Anderson, MaryBeth Michaelson, Serina Breiner, Barry Breiner, Brad Breiner, David Breiner, David Colbourn, James Corbett, Daniel Corbettt and Robert Corbett.
Bernie had an affinity for animals and memorial contributions may be made to the Potter League, 87 Oliphant Lane, Middletown, Rhode Island 02842 in lieu of flowers.
