In loving memory of Janet L. Shafer of Gales Ferry, Connecticut, who departed this world on January 17, 2025 at the age of 90. Janet leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ewald B. Hess and Gladys Lucier Hess. She is survived by: her sons, Jeffrey Shafer (Judy) of Bonta Springs, FL, Ledyard and Wayne Shafer of Salem; her grandchildren, Jason, Meggan, Amanda, Jenn and Alicia; and her great grandchildren, Logan, Caylee, Mckenna and Scarlett.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Byles-Groton Memorial (310 Thames St, Groton, CT 06340).
