He was predeceased by: his father Paul L. Smith. He is survived by: his mother Ellen D. Smith (Stoddard); his wife Elizabeth Smith (Thomson) of Gales Ferry, CT; and his sons, Paul Smith of Preston, CT and Patrick Smith of Groton, CT. He is also survived by two brothers and four sisters.
