She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Bernier and Adrienne Bernier (Michaud); her former husband Richard "Rick" Lavoie; and her siblings, Phyllis "Beatrice" Caton, Kenneth and Andrian Bernier.
She is survived by: her husband Norman J. Stender; her son Matthew Scott Lavoie (Christy); her grandchildren, Reese Renaye and Carter Matthew of Enfield; her daughter Jennifer Lee Stanizzi (Brian); her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Paige, Andrew James and Ava Grace of Enfield; her stepson Norman J. Stender, Jr. (Evelyn); her stepgrandchildren, Kalina Christine and Isabella Marie of Coventry; her stepchildren, Dylan Stender of Rockford, IL and Caitlin Stender; her stepgrandsons, Julian James and Chance Alexander of Poplar Grove, IL; and her siblings, Kathy Emerson of East Hartford and Bernard Bernier (Maxine) of Presque Isle, ME.. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Susan's family has suggested that expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial donations to; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to the donor's favorite animal welfare charity.
