He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Spear Prior (Spear) and Allyn Leslie Prior; and his parents-in-law, Brian Lauzon Sr., Thomas Hennessey and Yvette Lauzon Hennessey.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Prior (Lauzon); his children, Dr. Roberta Louise Prior of Meriden, CT, Laurie P. Ely (Christopher J. Ely) of West Hartford, CT and Richard A. Prior Jr. (Melissa Lane Prior) of Syracuse, NY.; his brother Bruce Prior (Susan) of Rochester, NH; and his siblings-in-law, Brian Lauzon Jr. (Paula) of Las Vegas, NV and Roberta Deragon of West Springfield, MA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He had an intense desire to learn and read, he enjoyed collecting and tinkering with electric trains, learning how to use all the latest technology and most recently, he mastered a new Kenwood radio and spoke to persons all over the world throughout the pandemic.
