He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Griffin and Margaret Griffin (McGee); and his brothers, Frank Griffin and Joseph Griffin. He is survived by: his wife Julia (Judy); his children, James (Jennifer) of Somers, CT, Jennifer Gray (Mike) of Enfield, CT and Jill Harkin (Ferghal) of Oxford, England.; and his grandchildren, Zachary, Amanda, Caitlin, Gryphon Gray and Madelyn Griffin.
