He is survived by: his wife Judith Schumacher (Grumbach); his children, Kristofer Schumacher (Amy) of Windsor, Rebecca Cobb (Chris) of South Windsor and Adam Schumacher (Lisa) of Coventry; his grandchildren, Carter Cobb, Calvin Schumacher, Lauren Cobb, Cooper Schumacher and Ryan Schumacher; his siblings, Frederick Schumacher, Jr. of New Haven, Christine Yannielli (Leonard) of Naugatuck and James Schumacher (Bob) of Santa Monica, CA; and his nephews, Joseph and Peter Yannielli.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home (551 Talcottville Rd, Vernon, CT 06066). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Ellington Center Cemetery (95 Maple St, Ellington, CT 06029).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Unit at Yale New Haven Hospital, 1 Church St., New Haven, CT 06510. The family has chosen to send donations to Alzheimer's Disease Research Unit at Yale New Haven Hospital.
