He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Gelfand and Anna Gelfand; and his siblings, Cyril Gelfand (Cy) and Edith Gelfand. He is survived by: his wife Joann Gelfand; his daughters, Amy Golding (Joel) of West Haven, CT and Lisa Gelfand (Brenda Coats) of Waterbury, CT; and his grandchildren, Carly Palmieri and Emily Golding. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Senior Services.
