He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas J. Jr. Sweeney and Agnes Sweeney (Deeley). He is survived by: his wife Ann Sweeney (Saling); and his siblings, Dr. Elaine Sweeney of Vernon, Darlene Solomson (Ray) of South Windsor, Doreen Anderson (Jim) of Ellington, Deirdre Palmer (Bryan) of East Hartford, Brian Sweeney (Valerie) of Vernon and Terrence Sweeney of Vernon. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
