He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Brean Cummings and Mabel Cummings (Parkman); his daughter Joan Alice Bond; and his granddaughters, Janet Marie Corey and Jillian Alice Bond.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Cummings (Gustafson); and his children, Debra (George Corey) of East Haddam and Michael Cummings of Moodus. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
