She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Castle and Hattie Castle (Goddard); her husband Alvin Lewis Messenger; her siblings, Harry LeClair, Basil, Ernest, Robert, Herbert, George, James Castle, Louise Waite, Ethel Flagg and Mary Little; her sons-in-law, Thomas Hathorne, Jr. and Hector Rivera; her grandson Robert Hathorne; and her great grandchild Elizabeth Maryea.
She is survived by: her children, Beverly Hathorne of Westfield, MA, Delores Rivera of Greensburg, PA, Roberta (Charles Olszewski) of East Granby, Bonnie (James Montemerlo) of Windsor Locks, CT and Alvin Messenger, Jr. of East Granby; and her grandchildren, Connie Maryea, Timothy Hathorne, Valerie Lawrence, David Rivera, Darlene Wilkinson, Sheri Weinberg, Charles Olszewski, Jr., Danielle and Christopher Montemerlo.
