He was predeceased by: his parent Clark Searles; and his daughter-in-law Grace Paoletti Searles. He is survived by: his spouse Joan Polizzi Searles; his parent Violet Smith Searles; his sons, Robert P. Searles Jr. of Shelton and Richard Searles (Lisa) of Seymour; his grandchildren, Ryan, Taylor, Austen and Matthew Searles; his siblings, Harold "Bud" Searles (Ann) of Southbury and Deborah Foy (Chuck) of Callao, VA; and his sisters-in-law, Madeline Baklik (Andrew) of Derby and Joanne Marino (Gino Marulli) of Ansonia. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
