She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Freije and Nellie Hyder Freije; and her siblings, Evelyn Freije, Lorice Freije, Virginia Freije Swan, Gloria H. Freije Knowlton and Albert P. Freije. She is also survived by six nieces and two nephews, eight great nieces and nephews, and four great-great nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phyllis's memory to her church.
