He was predeceased by: his parents, Pedro Baez and Flerida Maria Melo Baez; and his siblings, Silvio Melo, Amable Melo and Josefa Melo.
He is survived by: his spouse Belgica Melo (Andres); his children, Juan Francisco Melo (Margarita), Belgica Lisette Melo (Eglis Ordunez) and Raul A. Melo (Brahyandi); his siblings, Manuel Melo, Miledys Reyes, Carmen Diaz and Dulce Melo; his grandchildren, Stephanie Melo, Richard Gonzalez (Stephanie Ocasio), Michael Melo (Tarah Thevenot), Jordan Melo and Jazmine Ordunez; and his great grandchildren, Noah Gonzalez, Marvel Melo and Luna Melo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
