With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John D. Holzer Jr. of Derby, Connecticut, born in New Haven, Connecticut, who passed away on September 22, 2020 at the age of 76. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John D. Holzer Jr. to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Holzer Sr. and Clare Derbacher Holzer. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Benanto Holzer; his daughters, Lori Balawajder (Steven) of Manalapan, NJ and Debra Peccerillo (Anthony) of Derby; his grandchildren, Jack Peccerillo, Nicholas Balawajder, Cara Peccerillo and Allison Balawajder; and his sisters, Carol Dilello (Dominick) of Hamden and Kathleen Mitchell (Irving) of Cheshire. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

“Rosemary, it is with deepest regret that I write this tribute to you and your daughters. As you know, I had a nice lunch with Jack in June. We had the usual laughs and I am missing him. As valley postmasters, we had occasions to have similar lunches and visits. I had a great time with him in San Diego with the postmaster's group. Recently, he took my family to the airport on our way to Disney World prior to the virus. My sister-in-law, Debbie, recalls trips with him going back 20 years. RIP Jack”
