She was predeceased by: her sister Jean Carbone. She is survived by: her husband James Carey; her children, Shanon Carey and Jennifer Szwaba (Donald); her mother Maxine McGehee; her mother-in-law Mary Carey; her siblings, Carolyn Savitsky (Daniel), Robert McGehee, Patricia Georgette and Charles McGee; her siblings-in-law, Joan Goncalves (Robert) and Tony Carbone; and her grandsons, Aidan Cruz, Crew Szwaba and Van Szwaba. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Closer to Free Fund, Smilow Cancer Hospital, P.O. Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508.
