He was predeceased by: his parents, Hollis O. Sr. Hooper and Agnes Hooper (Jones); and his brothers, Hollis O. Hooper Jr. and Durell Hooper (DeeDee). He is survived by: his wife Arlene Hooper; his children, Leslie A. Mayo and Andrew R. Hooper; his grandchildren, Jacob, Luke Post and Alundra Hooper; his brother Raymond Hooper; his sister-in-law Carole Hooper; his brother Edward; and his sister-in-law Beatrice Gumula. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Clay's memory can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital https://www.stjude.org.
