He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Byrne and Maryanna Rae Byrne; his son Matthew; and his sister Susanna. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Friend Byrne; and his siblings, Kit, Mary Lou and Tom. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to a charity of donor's choice.
