He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen Murphy Harrel and Robert F. Harrel; and his brother David Harrel. He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, Robert F Harrel III (Lisa) of Minnesota and Jenny Hardy (John) of Florida; his granddaughters, Ellen O'Rourke (Ted) of Massachusetts and Liz Ulm (Dave); his great grandchildren, Walker and Robert; his grandsons, Nicholas Harrel and Jack Hardy; his stepgranddaughters, Vanessa and Jessica Hardy; and his grandchildren, Emily O'Rourke, Teddy and Ben O'Rourke.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Bob's name to The Darien Nature Center.
