She was predeceased by: her parents, Carmine Gazero and Anna Gazero (Falandys); her sisters, Catherine and Leonora (James); and her son James Charles Gartrell.

She is survived by: her husband James Gartrell of Darien; her son Thomas Samuel Gartrell; her grandchildren, Ian Gartrell (Tara) of Norwalk, CT, Eliza (Michael) and Isabella Gartrell of Oxford, CT; her great grandchild Charlie Rex Gartrell; and her brother Joseph Gazerro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
