He was predeceased by: his parents, Renald Martel and Laura Martel (Morin). He is survived by: his wife Marie Martel (Sweet); his son Scott Martel (Amanda) of Danielson; his stepson David Riner (Timothy) of Danielson; his grandchildren, Jonah and Aliviah Martel; and his sisters, Rita Flannery (Doug) of Danielson and Barbara Jasmin (James) of Brooklyn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations in Robert's memory may be made to a local animal shelter.
