He was predeceased by: his spouse Mary Szruba (Gilbert); his parent Joseph Szruba; his daughter Linda Briere (Szruba); and his siblings, Helen, John, Joseph, Frank, Stanley, Betty, Dorothy and Joanne.

He is survived by: his parent Bertha Szruba (Wawzyn); his children, Peter Szruba, Jr. of Putnam and Jenny Szruba; his son-in-law Albert Briere of Putnam; his grandchildren, Shane Davis, Jesse Davis, Kristen Ramdohr and Aubrey-Lynn Girdwood (Briere); and his great grandchildren, Landon, Kaidon, Arty and Jameson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
