He was predeceased by: his mother Lucinda Evans (Pfahl); and his siblings, Kristian Petersen, Jr. and Jennifer Evans. He is survived by: his father Kristian Petersen (Kit); his children, Catherine Eileen Petersen, Tor Richter Petersen, Jr., Coleridge Richter Petersen and Daniel Richter Petersen; his wife Marielle of California; his stepfather Russell Evans of Carmel, NY; his brother James Evans of Carmel, NY; and also Lisa Jo Petersen (Barnell). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, many cousins as well as several nieces and nephews.

A reception was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Regional Hospice Center (30 Milestone Rd, Danbury, CT 06810). A prayer was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
