With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita B. Ward of Danbury, Connecticut, who passed away on October 28, 2024 at the age of 78. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rita B. Ward to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George Barnes and Thelma Jackson; her spouse Kaye Ward Jr.; her son Danny K. Ward; her son-in-law Milton A. Brown; and her siblings, John Barnes, George Barnes, Lannie Barnes, Vanessa Jarrett, Delia Rosado and Santos Rosado.

She is survived by: her children, Christine Brown, Valarie Ward and Lamont Ward; her siblings, William Barnes (Janice), Kerzent Barnes (Doreen), Carmen Lopes (Benjamin), Gloria Garcia and Adela Rosado; her brother-in-law Carl Jarrett; and her close friends, Joyce Farmer and Patricia Hope. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at 11:00 AM at the New Hope Baptist Church (12 Dr Aaron B Samuels Blvd, Danbury, CT 06810).
