He is survived by: his parents, Juan Segundo Portilla Vasquez and Luz Maria Tacuri Lopez; his children, Jaime Portillla (Jessica), Myra Portilla and Monica Portilla; and his siblings, Zoila Portilla, Carlos Portilla and Gonzalo Portilla.
