Jean E. Markewycz Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 11, 2024, at the age of 96, Jean E. Markewycz of Danbury, Connecticut, born in Sharon, Connecticut passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Jean leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her husband Walter Markewycz; her former husband Robert Gaines; her son John Gaines; and her siblings, Marguerite, Irene, Rey and George Allison.
She is survived by: her daughter Susan Hanks; her grandchildren, Megan (Mark Thompson), Marcia Grise (Dan), Carley Favreau-Grise and Christopher Grise; and her niece Jeanne Benoit (Gerry). She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Church (370 Main St, Danbury, CT 06810).
