He was predeceased by: his significant other Debora Tison; his brother Rick Tison; and his father James Tison Sr.. He is survived by: his granddaughters, Madeline Buturla and Sophie Larivee; his children, Sarah Larivee-Winslow (Bryan), Stephen Larivee (Alisyn) and Michael Tison (Kim); and his stepmother Ellen Tison. He is also survived by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a GoFundMe (https://gofund.me) set up by his children to help with any financial burdens that may not be covered by his insurance. Any additional monies will be dispersed to a charity of their choosing for Armed Forces Veterans and a fund for his grandchildren to fulfill their educational goals to make their PopPop proud.
