It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John McCarthy of Cromwell, Connecticut, born in New London, Connecticut, who passed away on November 7, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Lucille McCarthy (D'Orio); his parents, Francis J. McCarthy and Anna McCarthy (King); his sister Kathleen McCarthy; his brother-in-law Anthony D'Orio; and also, Vito Carmello and Carmella Millie D'Orio.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon Aston (Bruce) of West Hartford, Timothy (Pamela Sagliano) of Yonkers, NY, Kevin (Lynn Ormsbee) of Torrington and Brian (Kelly) of Cromwell; his grandchildren, Heather Aston (Brandon Benoit), Nicole Ekstrom (Ryan), Michael, Thomas McCarthy, Kayla Zadjura (Zach), Kerri Duque (Juan), Gregory and Abby McCarthy (Sean); his great grandchild Mateo Duque; his sister Sheila McCarthy of Groton; his friend Dorothy Zaharek of Winsted, CT.; and also, Janice D'Orio of Litchfield, Jack, David and Chris.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be private. Face masks and social distancing will be required at all services.
