Elinor Lyons Backman Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elinor Lyons Backman of Cromwell, Connecticut, born in Medford, Massachusetts, who passed away on March 22, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Donahue and Florence Donahue (Glennon); her husband Carl Backman; her son John Lyons (Jack); her daughter-in-law Sue-Ellen Lyons; and her brothers, Howard, Edward (Teddy) and Thomas Donahue.
She is survived by: her children, Chris Lyons of Wethersfield, Peter Lyons (Debbie) of East Aurora, NY and Jeanne Delisle (David) of Cromwell; her daughter-in-law Cynthia Lyons of Uxbridge, MA; her grandchildren, Carolyn (Sean), Kelly (Andrew), Erin (Dave), Hillary, Sara, Peter, Bridget and Cortney; her great grandchildren, Elle, Evelyn and William; her sister Carol Saxon; her sister-in-law Janet Backman; and her stepson Carl Backman III. She is also survived by 4 step grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
