With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leslie K. Richardson III of Coventry, Connecticut, who passed away on March 10, 2022 at the age of 62. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Franklin H. Richardson. He is survived by: his mother Lois Richardson (Lee) of Coventry; his wife Dianne Richardson (Stone); his son Kevin Richardson of Friendship, ME; his sister Karen (David Pierce) of Coventry; and his siblings-in-law, James Stone (Terrie) of Easton, MA and Thomas Stone (Donna) of Easton, MA.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Butch's memory may be made to CSF Dollars for Scholars Inc., PO Box 3, Coventry, CT 06238.

“Kevin was such a kind, sweet person. And I even remember you, Leslie (btw, I literally just realized I was addressing this to Butch's birth name rather than his wife, Dianne! Please forgive me for that!). I always remembered you, Dianne as well. You always seemed very kind at the soccer games. Our prayers and condolences go out to you and your family and Butch will not be forgotten. God bless you all!”

“and honestly I never had a better season in any sport before or since. That year the team scored 15 goals and I had 9 of them. But Butch was hands down the reason for that as he literally allowed me to spread by wings as a player. Such fond memories! My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. May the Lord comfort you guys in this season and make His face shine upon you! Please send my hellos and condolences to Kevin as well. You guys were always such a humble and kind family.”

“Hi Leslie, Sorry for the delay in this condolence as I just heard about Butch's passing this morning. This is Nathan Hitchcock. Butch coached me in soccer and travel basketball across a couple years in Coventry (my parents are Cheri and Dave). I honestly have fond memories of Butch as my coach (I also played golf with Kevin on the high school golf team at CHS). Hands down my favorite memories of Butch was when he coached my soccer team the one year. He never hesitated to play me that year”
