With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Derek Wayne Hemmelgarn (Coventry, Connecticut), born in Fairfax, Virginia, who passed away on October 20, 2018 at the age of 45. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his parents, Trudy Pierce (Kelly) of Stafford Springs, CT. and Ronald Hemmelgarn; his stepmother Barbara Tierney of Suffield, CT; his siblings, Mike Hemmelgarn (Jillian) of Easthampton, MA, Mandy Hemmelgarn of West Hartford, CT, Marie Mueller (Zack) of Portland, ME and Carrie Hemmelgarn of Suffield, CT; his nieces, Addison Hemmelgarn of West Hartford, CT and Nora Mueller of Portland, ME; his nephew Calvin Mueller of Portland, ME.; and his grandmother Marcella Hemmelgarn of Coldwater, OH. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
